Japan accepts America’s giant robot duel challenge

The USA challenged Japan to a giant robot duel, and Japan accepted, so get ready for a clash of the metallic titans!

Yes, this is really happening.

In the red, white, and blue corner of the ring, America’s MegaBot stands at 15 feet in height. “We’re bringing video games and science fiction to life in the form of internally piloted giant fighting robots,” said MegaBots co-founder Gui Cavalcanti.

It can launch cannonball-sized paintballs at speeds of over 120 miles per hour! In other words, a coloring book’s worst nightmare.

On the other side of the ring, representing the Land of the Rising Sun, is the Kuratas Mecha. Its Dr. Frankenstein-like creator, Kogoro Kurata, not only accepted America’s challenge, he’s upping the ante by calling for a brutal melee match. Can I get a Super Smash Bros. style Falcon Punch?!

So, all you Power Rangers, Japa-anime, and Pacific Rim lovers better suit up, because your science-fiction dream is finally coming true. Giant robots are duking it out like futuristic knights!

And, this boxing match is totally guaranteed to have way more action than the Mayweather and Pacquiao fight…
